First impressions
A beautiful nurturing image, full of hope and inspiration.
What is happening in the card?
A naked woman in a beautiful garden under a starlit sky pours water into the ground behind and into the pool of water before her.
She has one foot in the pool and the other on the ground.
Flowers are growing all around the pool and the surrounding land is green and fertile. We see a bird in nearby tree and in the far distance a mountain range.
How can we relate to this card?
The Star, in her nakedness, is an inspirational expression of self-acceptance. Comfortable in her own skin she tends to her inner and outer self. And the the world around her.
If you are struggling with negative self-talk or the idea of being/not being ‘good enough’ the Star can illuminate the way. She encourages you to be vulnerable and optimistic as you take positive steps towards new goals and ways of being. To reach for the stars.

Message & affirmations
I love, respect and accept myself just as I am. And I know that I am good enough and deserving of love.
” The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely.”
~ C.G. Jung
” Enter the arena, daring greatly”
“Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be; embrace who you are.”
~ Brené Brown
“We have calcium in our bones, iron in our veins, carbon in our souls, and nitrogen in our brains. 93 percent stardust, with souls made of flames, we are all just stars that have people names.”
~ Nikita Gill
My personal experiences of this card
My favourite versions of the Star come from The Spacious Tarot, The Urban Tarot and Thoth deck.
And it was the Spacious Star that encouraged me to get on and publish this site, even though… I wasn’t ready. It wasn’t finished, or perfect, or what the world was screaming for… another Tarot blog. The Star gently pushed me to be brave and put myself out there.
To follow my dream and my bliss and trust that just by doing what I love, it will take me where I want to go.
To be my own Star Maker, because rare (like unicorns) is are the people who will make you the Star of their show. Your Mum, perhaps.
If a song were to sum it up…
🎶
You are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can’t bring you down, oh no
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can’t bring you down, oh no
So don’t you bring me down today🎶
~ Beautiful, Christina Aguilera
