Love must when Venus drives

As the saying goes… or something like that.

Anyway, welcome to Cancer season (and all the feelings that come with it) and Happy Summer Solstice!

At first glance this card, the 2 of Cups, speaks instantly of romantic love and attraction. An elegant couple, two beautiful lovers, equals, come together to share a moment. The two meet and appear to offer each other their cups in celebration of their relationship. They only have eyes for each other.

The 2 of Cups embodies love’s ideal. The union of two people in a happy, balanced relationship of equals based on love and mutual respect. They are seen here as they embark upon a new chapter together.

Isn’t this what we all aspire to in our own relationships?

Under the rulership of Venus, the divine and sensuous Empress brings love in abundance and sets us on the path of attraction, relationship and pleasure. In The Chariot, ruled by Cancer and ultimately the Moon, we see the pulling together of two distinct (possible opposing) energies to forge ahead as one on that path.

As with previous Decans, I have found it useful to look at some keywords to see what ideas it may spark about the current Decan of Cancer I.

Ask yourself:

• How open are you to giving and receiving in your closest relationships?
• How do you relate?
• Where and who do you look to for support and comfort?
• Are you getting the support you need from your most significant relationship/s?
• Are you offering the same level of support and respect? More or less?
• And how are you treating yourself?
• What and who are you attracted to right now?

Observations and synchronicities ~ on Cancer I

I’m making a space here to return to over the coming days of Cancer I to add any thoughts, ideas and synchronicities as they arise…

When I consider the Cancerians I know, the one thing that stands out for me is that they seem to be almost magnetic personalities. Cardinal Water signs, they draw people to them and this appears to be what is happening in the 2 of Cups – two people drawn to each other by some force.
