The images of The Sun and The Devil here look like ‘start’ and ‘stop’ signs. Openness and enthusiastic forward action met with a block and limitations. So, when you see the 4 of Pentacles you might ask yourself what’s stopping you? Who is holding up ‘the hand’?

Sometimes, knowingly or unknowingly, we can cling too tightly to people, possessions, or power. This grasping blocks the natural flow of energy—disrupting the exchange of love, vitality, and, in the case or material wealth, the transformative potential of money.

Money, at its core, is energy made tangible. When guided by wisdom, love, and compassion, it can be a force for good. Yet, we’re also aware of its darker side—the harm it can cause in our everyday lives and out in the wider world when hoarded or misused.

The 4 of Pentacles invites us to reflect on our relationships with money, possessions, and the people around us. It challenges us to act with greater integrity, managing these aspects of life with an open heart to allow energy to flow freely.

It also encourages us to question the distribution of wealth and power in our world. Where do we fit within these dynamics, and how can we, as individuals and communities, work to create greater equity for those who have the least?

As with previous Decans, I have found it useful to look at some keywords to see what ideas they may spark about the current Decan of Capricorn III.

The shadow side of Capricorn

The 4 of Pentacles highlights the sometimes unyielding and over-ambitious nature of Capricorn. It appears that the Sun energy is being stored not here, rather than distributed. But for what purpose? To what end? Could it be that the 4 of Pentacles is about having the means… and asking ‘to what end?’ And do the ends justify the means.

When you are ‘closed down’ or in a ‘lacking’ state…

Ask yourself:

• How can you focus on abundance rather than scarcity?
• Where can you offer help and comfort to those who need it?
• Are you closed-off in your relationships? Emotionally guarded?
• How can you approach with honesty, and an open heart?
• How can you be more fearless in sharing your energy and ‘wealth’ and communicating your emotions?

Observations and synchronicities ~ Capricorn III

I’m making space here to return to over the coming days of Capricorn III to add any thoughts, ideas and synchronicities as they arise…

I have been conserving energy for the last couple of months. A combination of getting sick before the Christmas break and a packed work schedule brought it home to me just how precarious it is to be a self-employed team of one. When I get busy and I kind of shut down certain activities in order to keep the whole show on the road.

In this case it was social media. I stopped posting and now I am completely out of the flow and not quite sure how to get back in it. This also brings up for me the question of my commitment and consistency – two things that we all know are key to online success. So, I need to get back into the flow. Let’s see what Aquarius season brings.
