First impressions
The 8 of Wands as depicted in the Rider Waite has an energy of speed and space. You could say that is does what it says on the tin.
What is happening in the card?
No long loquacious description required here… 8 Wands, all showing signs of new growth as shoots appear along each length, fly through the air. A lush green landscape with a river running through it gently undulates in the background. It is a blue sky day.
Is that a castle on the hill that we see?
How can we relate to this card?
The essence of the 8 of Wands is speed. Those wands are flying through the air, all with the same speed and trajectory. They are headed towards the earth and seem destined to land in the same spot. On target.
We experience the energy or the 8 of Wands when things are moving fast in one direction in our work and lives. Ideas are coming thick and fast. Opportunities are opening. Events are unfolding.
This can be great when moving forward is what we want.
Sometimes there is that feeling of things moving too fast, perhaps slightly out of our control, and that can be scary. Then, we must allow ourselves to go with the flow.
