First impressions
The first impression of the Priestess is one of quiet strength and knowing. She is wise, intuitive and psychic.
What is happening in the card?
Here the High Priestess sits in sky blue robes before the veil which separates our conscious from our subconscious mind.
Holding the Torah in her left hand she wears a cross on her chest and a crown on her head that has the appearance of the phases of the moon. With one foot visible and resting on a crescent moon, she sits on her throne between two pillars, one black the other white. These are the gates between two realms and she invites us and guides us beyond.
The veil is decorated with a pomegranate motif, a potent symbol of feminine fertility.

Message & affirmations
Today, I listen to the still small voice within and allow it to guide my intention in my thoughts words and actions. It is through these that I am the creator of my abundant and fulfilling life.
” Spirituality can release blocks, lead you to ideas, and make your life artful. Sometimes when we pray for guidance, we’re guided in unexpected directions. We may want a lofty answer and we get the intuition to clean our bedroom. It can seem so humble and picky and that you don’t necessarily think of it spiritual guidance.”

My personal experiences of this card
To me she is a beautiful, mysterious character who quietly demands attention and respect. I will sleep with the High Priestess under my pillow if I want to remember my dreams and tap into their meaning.
Events, situations & readings
In a personal/spiritual development spread:
You are wiser than you think. Allow yourself to tap into and trust your own inner wisdom for the guidance that you seek. Pay attention to your dreams, to sign and sychronicities.
People & interaction with other cards
Together with the Queen of Cups the High Priestess supports your intuition – trust your feelings.
With The Empress, the most powerful female archetype in the deck, the High Priestess suggests a strong female presence or influence in your life (perhaps your own) and together they may speak of female sexuality and fertility.
Her message to look within is amplified by cards such as The Hermit and her ruler The Moon.
